3d Spline

Im new to Fusion and have 2 questions regarding 3d spline.

First one is when I make a 3d spline on a plane, then move two of the sketchpoint out of this plane,  how can I mirror this 3d spline?

The other is, when i want to move a control point on the spline, the manipulator show all coordinates as zero. Is it possible to find the workspace location of this point?

Help would be much appreciated.

Hi @Tomcam, unfortunately, I think the answer to both of your questions is "no".  Today, at least, in Fusion, there is no "mirror about plane" for 3D curves, so you cannot mirror a 3D spline.  Second, when moving a point, you are correct - the values in the Move dialog are all relative to the current position, there is no way specify an absolute position for a fit point.  Both of these would be good Fusion 360 Idea Station requests.

Hi @Tomcam, you can get a mirrored 3d-spline that is completely parametric using this workaround.

The idea is to:

1/  create an object from the spline (easiest way is to extrude it, if you are using the timeline, do this in the Patch workspace. If you are not using the timeline you can also use pull or extrude while in Model workspace).

2/  mirror the object across the mirror plane.

3/ create a New Sketch and use Sketch/Project/Include 3d Geometry and select the correct edge of the mirrored object.

4/ Delete both objects. ( use 'remove' instead of 'delete' if you are using the timeline.

Now you have mirrored 3D curves that are parametric 🙂

Hi donsmac

Thanks for your reply, thats a good idea for a workaround.
