3D sketch - drag endpoint of a path to create a 3D path

Hi,

is it possible to draw a path (e.g a spline) in a 2D sketch and then grab an end-point and drag it into the third dimension. The resulting path should have the 2D shape, but now extended into 3D with either the inclination being constant or having the distance between path-vertices evenly distributed.

I know there are some work-arounds (eg by projecting two sketches "together" or using sheets ... but these would appear to be not as clean as it could be) ... but I thought that the problem sounds so simple and (programming - compared to the rest what the program does) the solution appears easy that there must be a straightforward solution.

Thank a lot for any hint!

Yes and No.  Yes, you can draw a 2D sketch spline and drag it into the 3d dimension (Sketch "Z") using the Move command.  However, there is no real way to make that Z distance be parametric.  You can create the Z moves of each fit point, but there is not a way to tie that distance to an equations or anything like that.

Thanks a lot! I "feared" that already ... would be such a nice feature 🙂
