3D Printing Models

I'm planning on printing a lot of Bodies from an Model. The Model will later be used to manufacture out of metal.

What is a good way to make edits to the Bodies just to prep them for 3D printing but not commit those edits to the main project?

Maybe Components have multiple Bodies but when I print I want them to be one object, I know I can combine but is there an easier way?

When I save a Body as an STL file it always exports it in the units my drawings in. The application my 3D printer uses requires mm. Any good work around? I've been changing my units mm, exporting, and then changing back to inches.

I create a new component for 3d printing or CAM operations, then copy all of the bodies/components to be printed and Paste New to the new component.  You can align (or use joints) to put all of the new subcomponents on the same plane.  Whether or not you need to combine the subcomponents to a single body depends on your slicer.  Slic3r doesn't require combining the separate subcomponents.

Changing the units to mm is the only way to create the stls for 3d printing.
