3D Print Directly to Slic3R?

I really like the integration of Fusion with Cura and Meshmixer with the 3D print facility, so sending it to either of those programs opens them up with the STL file automatically imported. However is that same thing is possible with Slic3r? Fusion will open Slic3r as a custom program but doesn't send the file to it like it does with either of the above.

I'd just like to confirm that's the case and if so, if a request could be made to make that facility available in slic3r? At the moment I am saving the model as an STL file and manually importing to Slic3r.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

Unsure how fusion handles the build in programs. Maybe some Dev can shed
light into this.

I think that prusa will not be able to make it work with just changing
their software.
Reason: you can select the prusacontrol.exe instead of the batch file and
try to export it. For me it just showed the orange loading screen but
didn't load any further. This suggests that even if the exe would accept
the filename with the /f Parameter it won't work.

Tbh I don't see the reason why you won't use a batch file ? It's a one time
setup and you don't need to but it on the desktop so that it is out of view.

>From my point of view fusion should make that feature configurable. Simple
interface where you can define custom export functions:
Name
Path and exe location
Optional additional command line parameters

Can we do a feature request on this?

Best wishes, Richard

I have posted this on the new ideas page but I would like this matter solved because it seems so easy. I have tried making a batch file but windows does seem to like the /f for some reason. I am not really into this on computers. I would really like this to be incorperated into Fusion as would a lot of other Prusa 3d printer owners. There are a lot when you think that prusa ships 800 a week!!!!! What else can I do to get the matter solved?

See posts #12 & #13 in this thread.  Slic3r has been working flawlessly from Fusion 360 since then.

Prusa apparently fixed this on their end, see fixed issues #1239, #1555 in version 1.42.0-alpha3.
