2d to 3d modeling for handgun

I do not think my original post went through yesterday.  I am trying to turn a jpg of a handgun profile into a 3d model.  My goal is to use each side as a split mold for making kydex.  Any help or advice would be appreciated

You could insert the image using Attached Canvas command to a plane & use that as a reference for modeling.

You could also size the placed image or change the image opacity.
