2D drawing change base view issue

Hi,

I have this problem: I have an assembly design with more than one component, when I create a drawing from that design the default base view is "Front". If I try to change the base view to something different (for example Top View), then I do not see nothing on the sheet. If I press anyway with the mouse then it place the view on the sheet, but it is not the top view, it is like an Isometric View. Attached I send three images to explain better the problem.

Also, this happens only when I press "set current view as ..." in the 3D model in order to change the default orientation of the axis. If I do not change the default orientation then everything is fine.

I know that I can get the top view by insering the front view and then insering the projected view, but this is quite annoying.

Thanks for the help.

Stefano

Hi @Anonymous, thanks for reaching out to us here on the forum. Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce this issue. If you could share your design with me, we can dig into this issue for you further. To share your design, just grab a public link and send it to me here or via email directly (timera.hart@autodesk.com).

I reproduced this issue just creating random geometries and changing the Top View using "set this view as ..." on the cube in the 3D model.

Anyway, here is the public link.

Hi Stefano,

Thank you for the link.  I logged a bug in the system for tracking this issue (FDWG-6978).  It sounds like you can work around the problem, but extra steps shouldn't be necessary.  From the description it sounds like it is not specific to just one file, but a general issue?

Thanks,
Chris

It is a general issue, I already said that I can reproduce this problem just creating random drawings and then clicking "set the current view as ..." in the 3D model.
