Syntax

root :adsk.fusion.Component = des.rootComponent

I see a lot of this kind of syntax here on the forum.

Can someone explain or point me to documentation that explains it?

Thank you.

Hi,

They are "Variable Annotations" and you can read about them here:

short version: https://docs.python.org/3/glossary.html#term-variable-annotation

larger version: https://docs.python.org/3/reference/simple_stmts.html#annassign

Regards,

Jorge
