Wrap Sketch to Cylinder Add-In

I've just posted an initial version of my Wrap Sketch add-in.

Several limitations at the moment.

  • The sketch curves must be drawn on the XY plane.
  • The cylinder must be oriented with its axis aligned with the Z axis.
  • Only sketch splines, lines, and points are wrapped.

The code is available on Github: https://github.com/hanskellner/Fusion360WrapSketch

Hope this is helpful to others.

p.s. It's useful for the Voronoi add-in I created (On Autodesk App Store)

This is exactly what I need however I am having issues with the installation. Could you include a video showing the complete installation of the plugin for Windows? Thanks!

Were you able to install the script?  Sorry to respond so late, I've been away on vacation.

A friendly advice. If you use Zup script works perfect. But if you are use another orientation result is like this resim.png

I am using this Add-In to wrap a honeycomb design around a cylinder but every time I use the add-in it causes Fusion to crash.

The sketch is in the XY plane with the cylinder Z up. I have tried it on a cylinder that was extruded from a circle sketch and a cylinder created using the cylinder function. I have done the whole honeycomb and just one cell. I can't figure out why Fusion keeps crashing. I'm on a brand new SurfaceBook 2 with an i7 if that helps with anything.

Any insight would be awesome! Thanks in advance

I'll test the script with the current version of Fusion.

To verify, are you using the current version of Fusion?  When the crash occurs, do you get an error message and if so, can you post it?

Thanks!

I grabbed and installed a fresh version of the add-in from the Github site and then ran a few tests.  No crashes on my setup.  Please let me know more details so I might better track down the issue.
