trying to install a 2d to 3d script

Hi there,

Thank you for any help you can suggest.

I read a story in instructables where a 2d image can be converted to a 3d item with a script, the reference quoted is

"To translate a 2D bitmap image to a 3D surface for CNC milling, we're going to use the Image-2-Surface (updated 03 / 2018) script written by Hans Kellner."

The instructions in instructables says "

To load the script in Fusion, follow these steps:

  1. Start Fusion 360 and then select the ADD-INS > Scripts and Add-Ins... menu item.
  2. The Scripts and Add-Ins dialog will appear and display the My Scripts and Sample Scripts folders.
  3. Select one of the My Scripts folders, then click on the + icon near the top of the dialog.
  4. Locate the Image2Surface.js file in the folder you copied, select it, and click Open. The script should now be installed and ready to be run."

But I cannot find anywhere that is Add ins... Maybe because I have a personal version and it is not full functional? Maybe it has been updated somehow

I have screen shot the image (jpeg) that I'm trying to make 3D with a low profile possibly 4mm high.

Best wishes

Philip

Hi,

Scripts in js are deprecated in Fusion 360 since 2020.

You have to get someone to convert it to C++ or Python, which are the languages supported currently.

Jorge
