Template Toolpath that gets geometry from named Sketches

Don't know if this is the correct forum, but here I go:

Is there a way to create a template toolpath, that "remembers" the named sketch I choose on the geometry tab? I do a lot of repetitive cuts and my sketches for cutting, engraving, carving etc. are always named consistently. It would be very helpful if that could be done.

The API for CAM continues to progress, but a big existing hole is the ability to define geometry for toolpaths.  It's possible to get the sketch but it's not possible to update the toolpath with the found sketch.  Hopefully, the functionality is coming soon but I don't know what the timeframe is.
