Sheeter - Google Sheets Connection for Fusion 360

I wanted to post this here i case anyone is interested in checking it out.  Something I have been working on for awhile and decided to put it out there to see what people think.

This allows you to connect a Google Sheet (spreadsheet) document to a Fusion 360 design.  Then you can define multiple sizes.  Once you have defined the sizes you can switch sizes back in Fusion, or generate new Fusion models, export neutral files, or post process g-code for each size.

It is really just a bit of a hobby project for me so I make no guarantees, but in the tests I have done it has been pretty reliable.

Let me know what you think.

Well, I guess the issue came because I was using a link to a spreadsheet made with the previous version.

I have added to new sheets to my old spreadsheet, "Properties" and "Sketch Text", as required in the new version, and everything works fine.

Great job! I'll let you know my impressions with this new version.

Oh yah, thats not good thanks!  I'll see if I can get a fix asap that won't break compatibility with older versions.

Hey @prainsberry I found one other small bug in the new version. After changing size the "Quick Pull" button at the bottom of the window didn't update the size that it was linking to for that quick pull.

So as an example:

I used "Change Size" to go from size 1 to size 2 inside the fusion project, and everything updated accordingly. But then after making a Sheets change and trying to update the currently active "size 2" part using "Quick Pull", everything reverted to size 1.

The only thing that seems to update the quick pull linkage is if you run the main "Sync With Google Sheet" button select your current size in the "Current Size (Associated Sheet Row)" and run the sync. Maybe this is expected behavior, but IMO the ideal functionality is for the Quick Pull to update its linkage in coordination with a size change

Hey thanks, yah that is a bug.  Currently working on version 3.1.0 and I'll incorporate this fix as well.

Sorry for the rushed release and lack of testing, once I got into it I've been making tons of improvements and haven't had as much time to test over the past couple days.

Almost done with latest changes, should be published later today.

Fixes a few bugs and problems with incompatibility with older spreadsheets.

Also added some more performance improvements.

Hi Patrick!

I'm testing your new version and I've found a couple of bugs. I can't link my design to an existing sheet, and the Sync features suppression doesn't work at all, it seems it's completely passed by.

Hello, thanks again for the feedback.  I can't believe I missed those, result of one of the last changes I made.

I just uploaded version 3.2.0, hopefully I got all the kinks out this time.

Hats off!!

Both bugs completely solved. I love the improvement in the G-code interface too 😍

I've been browsing the code in the config.py file, is the "post_name" variable meant to preset a post in the G-code interface?

....and one suggestion, would be possible to add some kind of "Select all" for the setup selection so as to not have to mark them one by one?

Thanks again for all!!

After the major update of fusion last week I can't run the add-in anymore, unfortunately. I have downloaded the latest version, but without any luck. Is there a special trick to make it work again?

Thanks for the help!Sheeter.png

It looks like you are still using the old one.  Did you download the latest from:

https://n3rdlab.com/downloads/sheeter/

Make sure in the scripts/add-ins dialog you are pointed at the right version, should be 3.2.0 as of today.

Hi @n3rDlab

I keep on testing your new version and I have found a bug. When I launch Generate G-code for all sizes, none of the operations is recalculated before the post processor, so any operation that needs recalculation appears in the output.

The last couple of weeks I have been working on a new design with two sizes. But lately I can't change between the two sizes any more. I get the following info when trying. It looks like I deleted some feature's that where connected to the google sheet. But I can't figure out which one exactly. Is there a way to figure out which one i'm missing?

Thanks for the help!

Probably the best thing is to just create a new sheet.

Hello

I'm looking for the possibility to control variant models in Fusion via a table and came across the possibility of Sheeter in the forum here and was very pleased at first, because it seems to be what I am looking for.

But Sheeter can't be found in the Fusion 360 App Store and since I'm a layman, I can't judge if that's a serious thing.

Maybe they can help me and thank you very much

Mfg

Christoph
