Hello,
e-NABLE is developing parametric models in Fusion 360 to better service people who need customized open-source 3D-printed prosthetic terminal devices. We have a licensing question.
To empower volunteers with less expertise and computing power than is required to customize these large parametric models, we have developed a user-facing application that uses a few measurements of the residual limb to generate personalized STL files for 3D printing. We researched using the Design Automation API for this, but that approach is nonviable. We now plan to generate said STL files with a single instance of Fusion 360 on a Windows VM in the cloud with a plugin that interfaces with a web service running on that same VM. We plan on having the application signed in under an e-NABLE Autodesk account on the Hobbyist plan. The plugin will open the appropriate model, configure the model with the user's parameters, and export the relevant bodies as STLs. The web service will then pass the exported files back to the requester. We have prototyped this plugin and web service locally, and it works well.
Before we deploy this atypical web service and Fusion plugin and allow our volunteers to access it, we seek Autodesk's blessing. Our application will have an authentication layer to restrict access to only e-NABLE volunteers who sign an agreement to use the system for strictly non-commercial purposes, consistent with the Hobbyist plan. Additionally, users will only be able to export models from a list of pre-approved devices.
How can we get the appropriate assent from Autodesk?
