OS X El Capitan (beta) issues

Hi,

I'm also Software Developer for OSX/iOS applications and noticed that the latest June Update solved my programstart issuesimmediately. Thanks so far! :-). But now, on beta 2, I'd like to encourage a new bug:

This time on both distributions: AppStore and you're ones, I'm unable to login to my Account and therefore I can't even start those Apps again. Sadly I didn't get a crash report 😞

The last screenshot shows my console state message at the time, the error message shows up.

Next time, I'll invite you for a beer 🙂

Thank you all in advance,

Markus

Hi Markus,

We are looking into making sure Fusion 360 works as expected in the brand new version of the Mac OS. In the mean time, I would like to thank you for your patience and continued use of Fusion 360.

Regards,

Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,
I’ve found a workaround to keep using Fusion 360 at El Capitan 🙂

1. Disabling WiFi- & other network interfaces.
2. Start the App again (in Offline mode)
3. Turn Wifi on again, and seconds later, everything works as expected.

Hopefully, you’re Team will find this bug as soon as possible. It’s curious.

Have a nice day
Markus

In addition to this, I have another bug that prevents app launch entirely

I get the authentication error must quit thing when connected to a network and it does launch in offline mode (no network) but it will not connect to online.

It just stays in offline mode or tells me I have been using it to long in offline mode and quits.   (Never have used in offline till today...)

I'm running 10.11 Beta 3 (15A216g)

I'm afraid to upgrade to beta 3 because I need to finish an iOS app and Xcode 6.4 is only barely working as is. This time thing has made it more or less totally unusable for me though.

This workaround worked for me. Thank you very much!

My current OS X Version is 10.11 Beta (15A215h)

Edit: Okay, but I can only work in offline mode. When trying to go online after a successful start of Fusion with this mentioned workaround I receive this message:

Response Code = 401; {"developerMessage":"Token is not provided in the request.","userMessage":"","errorCode":"AUTH-010","more info":"http://developer.api.autodesk.com/documentation/v1/errors/AUTH-010"}

I have installed the El Capitan 10.11.2 Beta 3, but Fusion does not start at all. I have uninstalled Fusion using the little manual here and reinstalled the latest version of Fusion. Unfortnunately this does not help. Fusion isn't running at all.

Disconnecting any network connection does not work for me anymore 😞

My Console logfile shows this:

@holger_t As mentioned in the other thread, we've done quite a bit of work to support El Capitan on this update (up to 10.11.2), and the startup issues should be resolved.  That said, we still need time to do testing, etc. on 10.11.3 since it just came out a few days ago.

Hi,

I did this for a workaround:

  1. make a bootable version of El Capitan, described  here
  2. boot from the USB device and reinstall El Capitan. Doing this, only the system files will be replaced an no user data will be deleted. Now you have a fresh 10.11. Fusion360 is working again.
  3. From my point of view, I wanted to get rid off the beta program to prevent such a situation again. To do this, I followed the instructions from Apple  here.
  4. I updated the system to 10.11.1 again.

It took me about 40 minutes for the whole process.

Cheers,

Holger
