Generative design with python

Are there any examples of generative design using python scripts?

This post covers fractals which is good but not what I am going for exactly. I'm just trying to create a surface that I can adjust via parameters

The only other resources I have found are from Rhino/Grasshopper

Have you tried going over the CustomGraphicsSample script that is already on the Fusion Scripts and Add-Ins list?

To me the python version fails, but it still produces a gear shaped object.
