Feature Request: Allow a section exposed by Section Analysis to be selected as a sketch surface

Sometimes in complex designs with a lot of features it is nearly impossible to view and sketch on internal surfaces, even when trying to visualize with lower opacity. If you could section the part and then use the exposed surface to draw upon, it would make easy to create features internal to complex designs. I have tried with some success to split the body with a plane, create the feature on the new surface and delete the body split from the timeline.

Hi @leeackerson ,

What worked for me regarding your request, is to create a construction plane instead of splitting the body, sketch on that plane, intersect the body with the plane which creates the internal surface, and then complete the sketch.

Here is an example:

Purple line is the intersection between the body and the plane; blue line are additional sketch lines using point from the previous operation.

Does it work for you?

Hope this could help.

Have you tried the "Slice" option in the SKETCH PALETTE? This slices away the portion of the model in front of the sketch, while the sketch is active.
