F360 debugging doesn't work with latest VSC python version

Just so everyone knows - F360 debugging doesn't work with the last VSC python update (2020.10.332292344).  You need to revert back to v2020.9.114305 for F360 to open up VSC and for debugging to work again.

It opens VSC and then this.

And no debugging happens.

I just want to check that you got these error messages from your own computer?  I saw exactly the same log messages (appears to be 100% identical) when I updated my F360 to the latest version.  I reported the problem to AD (via insider problem reporting), but it wasn't given any attention, I suspect because F360 still works, and not enough people have reported the issue!

I strongly suspect that there's a cache file that isn't being deleted, and it's probably associated with one of the files listed in the error log - there are just too many to go through one by one.

Unfortunately they don't make it obvious.  In my case I just happened to have VSC open when I initiated an upgrade - and, I got a slew of log messages on the VSC terminal.  I had the presence of mind to copy and paste the logs to notepad.  If I hadn't seen the messages I don't think I would had ever known that there was an issue.  There wasn't a failure message or any other indication to show that something didn't go right.

I suspect that these messages indicate that some files are not actually upgraded, and so it's possible that there's a mix of supporting file versions (which can't be good).  I can't seem to get AD to react- they're not interested unless there's a throng of voices or something has obviously failed.

As I understand, VSCode conducts debugging process using JavaScript node.js, which takes configuration params launch.json . The detailed semantics are available on VSCode web pages.

Regarding your problem, pay attention to the debug port configuration. Do you have some network ports blocking software, firewalls, software utilizing standard VSCode debug port for a different purposes, malicious viruses, specific network hardware,... etc.?

Where I got the messages from?  Well, I have brought them from .... debug panel of VSCode itself, although I think they could be found in the local log files also.

I don't understand all that port stuff.

What I did find find, is if I start a debug in F360 which then opens VSC and nothing happens, I click F5 (which starts debugging) and then it will debug as usual.
