external rest api

Does fusion ever plan to offer a rest api?  I could love to create cam setups and operations externally, not from within the application by running a script.

I want an external service to call the api, setup everything I want and then I can make further modification from within the application.  

Is this on the roadmap at all?

I don't know what the future will bring, but if something is done, I would expect it to be more like the existing Forge Automation API's for AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit. They allow you to use the existing local API but run your program on the cloud and retrieve the results. Sending the job and retrieving the results is done with a REST API but driving the application uses the local API. Whether we see this for Fusion at some point, I don't know.
