Why is it that sometimes dimension are not all in the same direction?

I was working on a sketch and dimensioned a few lines. (see attached picture)

The 32 dimension is facing the other way compared to the 5 dimension. Why is that? I've never seen this before.

This happens because you dimension the lines using their endpoints.  You will pick one from top to bottom and the other from bottom to top.  In the screen capture below.  The red arrow indicates my first dimension point pick.  If you would select the line, instead of the endpoints, not only is it faster, but the dimensions will come in facing the same direction.  There are times when you have to use endpoint picks, then just be consistent it is important to you.

Is there a possibility they could let us choose the Text View Direction? Either Left-to-Right or Right-to-Left like we could/can in Autocad
