NOTICE: “Unresolved Components” issue update
This new update (v 2.0.10244) includes important fixes to the recent data issues where some design documents exhibited missing thumbnails and/or failed to open due to “unresolved components”. If you haven’t updated Fusion 360 yet, we urge you to go through the following 3 steps:
- Save your existing work.
- Restart Fusion 360 to get the latest update.
- After update is successful, follow the steps outlined in the Support Article.
If you are still experiencing the issues described, please contact us using the details provided in the support article.

Known Issues
USDz Export
- If you have non-ASCII characters in your Fusion 360 design names, you may run into issues while exporting them as USDz file format.
- If your designs have appearance materials with bump-map textures such as 3D wood grain, exported USDz files may not display these appearance materials correctly and may default to it's base material (Steel).

Notable Fixes
Usability
- We fixed a long-standing issue where Fusion 360 reset keyboard shortcuts and toolbar layout to it’s factory default setting every time you logged out or shut down and logged back in. Now it should load your custom keyboard shortcuts and toolbar layout as it should.
- We fixed an issue was causing Fusion 360 to crash upon opening certain designs.
- david.wilshaw reported on the forum that when he exported an OBJ file, bodies with visibility turned off were also being included in the exported file, and consequently appeared in the slicer. Sorry about that, something wonky happened to the translator and now it should export correctly. If you were running into this issue, save a new version of the design you’d like to export and try again.
Sketching & Modeling
- KristianLaholm told us about an issue where when he tried to edit a Surface Revolve feature he had previously created, he got an error if he used a sketch line as the Revolve axis. This is now fixed and you shouldn’t get an error anymore.
- We fixed a few issues related to the Sweep tool where it would sometimes fail depending on what you select as profile, guides, and path. Now it should work as expected.
Simulation
- alejandro.gutierrezo tried to setup an Event Simulation for a bullet impact but ran into an issue where the acceleration speed was incorrectly set to the same value as the Initial Velocity speed. This is now fixed.
Manufacture
- We Improved extraction and healing of nestable profiles for both Arrange tool and Nesting. This helped resolve several issues reported by jayarvinsettle, barry9UDQ6, and PDXCNC via the forum. This effort also fixed translation for certain internal test models that were previously failing. Geometry repair function makes our profile detection more robust and successful at handling non-native models for Nesting.
- We fixed an issue where the 2D adaptive toolpath failed to generate when you used a face selection that had a zero-point corner with a warning that read "Invalid segments for planar subdivision".
- Apparently the “Activate” button was incorrectly appearing on files that included a linked component. Something must have slipped through the cracks; we got this sorted out and now files with linked components should no longer show the “Activate” button on mouse hover.
- rsenior933ZE, along with the rest of the machining community will be happy to know that you are now able to program a multi-tasking boring operation to cut in a negative direction or positive direction, depending on the which direction the tip sits in the machine.
API
- cirrus7-de was working on a script when he came across an issue with entityToken/findEntityByToken. Apparently entityToken/findEntityByToken failed because it was looking at the root Component. An entityToken obtained from an Occurrence should always match back to an Occurrence entity type, never a Component. This is now fixed.
