Fusion 360 keeps crashing whenever I try to save, or when it autosaves

I am working on a file for a while now and have not had this problem. I just saved last night, and this morning whenever fusion autosaves, or I manually save, the program crashes. I've tried restarting my computer, and uploading previous versions of the file. Also, this problem is only occurring with this specific file. If I make changes to other projects I have, and try to save, its fine. I've also tried copying the file to another project and saving from there, and that didn't work either.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the forum! I wish it was under better circumstances.   You mention Fusion 360 crashes on saves and autosaves.   Do you see a crash error report (CER) dialog when this happens? If so, can you fill in your email address and send in the report? I searched for any CER´s from you and have been unable to find any.  Once it is sent in, please respond back to this thread so that I can look at your report and advise.

I appreciate your reply. I do not get a crash error report prompt. It just
takes a really long time to do anything. It'll freeze for about 10 minutes
every time it saves but it will eventually save. I can't realistically do
anything.

Hi @Anonymous,

We are aware of a slowdown on save and may have a fix available for this in the next couple of days.  I will let you know as soon as it is available and please let us know if that solves your issue.  I apologize for the inconvenience of this issue.

Thank you,

@h.touzot and @Anonymous,

We just released a fix for this.  Can you please try your saves again and see if the issue is fixed?  If you installed from the Mac App Store (MAS) the update is not available yet.  It should be available in the next few days.  You can install from our website, if needed, until the MAS version is available.

Thank you for your patience on this issue.

I am experiencing the same problems as stated above. Every autosave or manual save causes the program to crash, since the last product update. I have sent numerous error reports in, the latest being CER_134460437. My issue is unresolved currently.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting.  I have looked at your CER (Crash Error Report).  We are aware of an issue in that area and plan to deploy a fix on Wednesday.  In the meantime, to workaround the issue please do the following:

  1. In File Explorer go to C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk
  2. Search for the file "UploadQueuedFileList.xml"  - without quotes
  3. Rename that file. You can rename it to any name.
  4. Relaunch Fusion 360

This should fix your problem.  If not please let me know.

Thank you,

@Anonymous The graphics driver for your Intel graphics card is from 9/11/2015. Can you start by running the Intel Driver Update utility on your computer to see if it helps with the crashing?

Also, could you include the diagnostic log files from your computer? There is a command in the help menu.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm updating my graphics driver right now to see if that helps. I have also attached my diagnostic log files

Thanks for the update. I'm tracking down a few leads on the solution on my end. I think the issue may be related to branching/merging, but I'm unable to confirm at the moment.

Are you using the default "master" branch to save to?

What happens if you change the branch or merge the branch? (assuming you are working in a branch...)

Thanks,

I am using the default master branch. Don't know how to merge the branch.

It only works if i save it in offline mode, then restart fusion 360. Then it will allow me to save it and auto save it in online mode

@Anonymous Thanks for the update. From what we have been able to figure out so far, it seems like there may be some locally cached files to blame for the issue.

At this time, the best theory is that we need to clear out these locally cached files. The quickest/easiest way to do this is to perform an Automatic Clean Uninstall of Autodesk Fusion 360 with the Fusion Cleaner tool (below).

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-do-an-automatic-Clean-Uninstall-for-Autodesk-Fusion-360.html

In this case, please select Yes to delete the locally cached files when prompted.

After uninstalling, you can select Download Free Trial on the below website to start the re-install process.

http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview

Can you give this a try and let me know if it helps?

I note that you can sign into your Dashboard to see what files are stored online in the cloud (in case you are concerned about deleting the local cache).

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-access-your-hub-s-Dashboard-in-Fusion-360.html

I hope that helps!

Hi

I am having similar issue. Fusion crashes every time without error report dialog when i am trying to use "Save Copy As" for a component. It also crashes on Export to f3d files but works iges files. All of it happens the same way on two different computers and with more then one files.

I can save entire file thought.

The files originally were in a separate branch so i copied them into a new project. It did not help.

I've done clean reinstall and everything else suggested in this tread with no success.

Please help!
