Face texture not showing in section view

Hi,

I have set a concrete tile texture to faces, and when I take the section view the face texture does not show.

in cross-sectional views, the sections are generally hatched, not only in CAD.

Yes of course, but not faces that are not "cut" with section plane, right?

I hadn't registered it exactly but could now state that the section views don't show any appearences but only the physical material.

That does indeed look like a bug.

I'd love to, but i can't reproduce it yet. I'm using customized appearances that are modified in color and scale. I don't have any custom ones but that could be the issue.

What if you place a different appearance to desks bottom face only? Like first to add a wood texture to whole top part and then some other appearance to bottom face.

Eh i'll have to test a different file - those are 3D wood which cannot be applied to a face.

Yeah figured out. It's only when its applied at face level, the section view applies the default appearance. Its a defect of sorts.

But this has a clear workaround - make the concrete tiles a small body and make the entire body the same appearance.
