Usability

  • marcKCKSJ reported an issue where him and his coworker were having trouble opening and exporting files as SolidWorks formats. We quickly dug into this problem and caught the bug that was causing translation problems to occur. This is now fixed.
  • kahjun1991 experienced a problem with the Loft command where he couldn’t create the G1/G2 continuity constraints for the end rails in his design. We sorted out some inconsistencies in the code and now you should be able to set those constraints from the get-go.
  • thomasASZGG told us that he wasn’t able to save a sketch design as DXF since the July update. Apparently when saving as a DXF, Fusion 360 unexpectedly “dirtied” the design, meaning it made a pending change to the design and left it in an unsaved state. Now it will no longer dirty the design.
  • We heard that some of you were experiencing slow behavior when you tried to insert a DXF into Fusion 360. You told us that it sometimes took up to 60 seconds to place on a sketch plane, or to delete two lines from the sketch. This slow-down has been resolve based on our recent sketch profile builder improvements.
  • davidPR52T reported on the forum that when he tried to export his design as a STL file format, Fusion 360 ignored the document setting units, and for some weird reason always exported the design in mm. While HughesTooling chimed in with a workaround (thank you HughesTooling), we’re happy to report that this issue has been fixed on our end.
  • thebrews802 told us about an issue where some options in the Save As STL option were stuck in a previous state and have become disabled. We sorted this out and you’re now able to save the STL as one file or one file per body, into a local directory or straight to your 3D Print Utility of choice.
  • aaron.m.johnson, among others, have made us aware of an issue that was causing Fusion 360 to take a long time to launch and get up and running. We discovered that this delay was related to overly large Preferences XML files. We reduced the bloating and this issue seems to have been fixed.

Sketching

  • compuchadf360 found a bug that was impacting how his design was updating when he was changing certain parameters on our parametric model. He was able to change the "width" parameter without issue, but changing the "height" parameter from 80mm to 100mm resulted in the "Lid Mounts" to incorrectly remain in place, throwing a warning on that extrusion feature. This is now fixed.
  • carl.j.barker saw a projection oddity when he was projecting the edge of a hole onto a plane at 90 degrees. He was expecting a line and not a circle. We were expecting a line too, so we dug into this one and got it sorted.
  • mhag33tg2 spotted a wonky behavior where tiny little unwanted lines were being sprinkled onto the sketch canvas when the you began to create a line sketch. How messy. We got to the bottom of this and discovered that it had something to with arc dragging being enabled. This is now fixed.
  • GRSnyder told us about an issue related to the Auto zoom fit on first dimension option. He had "Scale entire sketch at first dimension" turned on, and sketches did rescale proportionately around the first-applied dimension. However, there was no zooming or "fit to window" going on; the zoom remained as it was before the first dimension was applied. Turns out that if the sketch geometry is all inside the canvas, Fusion 360 will not auto-zoom the canvas. This was as-designed.
  • We fixed an issue where the workplane and sketch incorrectly moved/flipped when you tried to change the offset dimension from 8 to 10.

Modeling

Electronics

  • We fixed an issue where canvases such as device designators from a PCB were incorrectly shown as visibly after you performed section analysis.
  • Apparently if you set the limit to 0.7mm in DRC/Masks, the board will create a vias with 0.5mm 2mm drill diameter. If you toggled to the 3D PCB view, the solder mask will incorrectly show holes matching all the vias with a smaller diameter. The solder mask should only show cutouts on the vias with diameter bigger than limit set in the DRC. This is now the case.
  • When you generated a 3D PCB. there were additional copper rings on vias. All PTH vias had an extra unnecessary height in the copper plane, which makes them poke through the solder mask layer. We fixed this issue and now  via copper heigh is correctly lower than solder mask.
  • We received a few reports of Fusion 360 crashing when you tried to duplicate a symbol in a PCB library. This is now fixed and duplicating symbols will work as expected.
  • We Improved PCB 3D Modeling performance as mentioned by HouseOfMollari in this post. Let us know if this issue has been resolved correctly for you!

Drawings

Manufacture

  • After selecting a face on a part we were using for testing, 2D pocket and 2D adaptive did not generate and got stuck at 0%. This is now fixed.
  • PatrickPowers-CGS reported an issue where setting turning stock limits with reference to the chuck front was not working properly. Now it is.
  • We got a report through support where In 2D profile, perfect circles did not become polyline even if the tolerance were roughened. To compensate for this, you can create perfect circles with rough straight lines by further increasing the built-in tolerance value to 0.2.
  • It is now possible to import inspection results generated by Fanuc 0i-MF controller.
  • The export of metal printing is not performing as expected when customizations get applied to the printer setup. There wasn’t an status bar or indication of what was going on. This issue seems to have originated from using print settings that have the generic EBPA exporter. It can also be reproduced by using the Generic MPBF machine and its' default print setting. This is now fixed, and status is clearly shown regardless of whether or not there was any customization made.
  • We fixed an issue where toolpath generation hung indefinitely when generating supports in a specific additive manufacturing model.
  • sean told us that he noticed the location of the drill cycle type in the name of an operation has been unexpectedly moved from after the name of the operation to before. This made it difficult to sift through setups to find a certain tool number. Sorry about it, it was definitely a bug that caused this and was not an intentional change on our end. This has now been fixed.
  • We fixed an issue where certain inside threading toolpaths with "do multiple threads" turned one, causing threads to cross each other.
  • We fixed another issue regarding certain turning profile roughing toolpaths where the tool left too much material on the model when the "extend to stock" parameter was turned on.
  • We improved the performance of Pocket Clearing toolpaths where the likelihood of gouging was reduced when you attempted to enter a slot of similar width to the tool diameter.
  • Apparently if a nesting study failed and no result was generated, you were not able to delete the failed nesting study. This is now fixed.

 API

  • We found an issue where Fusion 360 crashed when the values property of the FloatProperty object was called. The FloatProperty object is used to pass information associated with an appearance. This has been fixed and Fusion 360 will no longer crash when FloatProperty object is being called.

Hi,

There has been a translation error in the French version since several versions.

The unit meter is translated as counter.

The unit should be "Mètre" and not "Compteur" otherwise it doesn't mean anything.

Thanks

Just updated to this latest release this morning, and now I am seeing an odd delay in drawing lines in the sketch mode in Model. Whenever the mouse gets anywhere near an edge or point that it may want to snap to, there is a two second freeze in the mouse movement, whether moving the mouse towards or away from that position. Very disconcerting, hard to tell where it will go if I click on that position for a line endpoint. It was not doing this before this release - nothing else on my system has changed. Windows 10, 32gig RAM.

Indeed, "compteur" means "counter".
