The New Tool Library Preview has been updated for the March 2020 release, and there are a number of updates to check out! I encourage everyone that is interested in providing feedback to turn on the New Tool Library preview in preferences and post your comments here. Note that this is a development preview, which means functionality and UI elements are still subject to change.
Mark O'Brien shared the changelog for the March 2020 preview in the previous New Tool Library thread:
Under development, but not yet in preview:
Looking good! I just tried the ANSI code input, it worked with CNMG431 but it did not work with CCMT3(2.5)1 or any other combination (32.51, 3251, etc). How do you input inserts with decimals?
I've really been struggling to use this new library. Honestly I hate it. I just got so frustrated with it today I found this thread. Turns out I didnt know I had the preview preference selected.
This new sorting or lack of sorting makes no sense to me. I get the idea but its way slower for me. My mill has over 100 tool IDs that are specific to each tool. I use them enough to know which tool ID is which tool. All I want to do is sort by either name or tool ID or tool offset. It takes me 3 seconds to find and select the tool I want. The filters are especially frustrating when trying to find a tool that is described as something it really isnt because Fusion lacks a lot of initial options for defining a tool.
in short, please add the old sorting back to the top. Sort by description, and then a right click to add or remove columns would be ideal. IDK why this working yet.
EDIT: I was apparently still on yesterday's version, but even updated. I still cant sort by description or add sorting options. I need the option to sort by description or length offset number. Sort by number is nice but it doesnt work for me given my mill only has 10 pockets so I'm constantly changing around the tool number to match open pockets.
@a.aquadro1043 Thanks for your feedback. As previously pointed out the team are currently working on:
You should see more filtering functionality as you suggested over the next release.
Thanks
