Hey guitarelements,

Can you reply with the STL file you're trying to use? Also, please attach a Fusion archive file if you've got one so we can help.

Hello and thank so much for your replied and help.

This what I have been doing and I am still confuse and do not know what to do

The model i bought on ebay is a file stl format. I used Slic3r program and able to load the stl file, then generated the gcode for it. The stl file is approx 145.00 MB and the gcode produced by slic3r.org is 38.2 MB

- I load the gcode used GRBL v1.1 which connect to my shapeoko3 CNC,

I did $h the spindle went home ( top right corner )

then I jogged the spindle to the bottom left corner of the stock and set zerojob there.

I click on send (GRBL )

the spindle move from the bottom left corner toward HOME ( top right corner )

Then the machine trying to move very violent making horrible noise, i was freaking out and do not realize which way it try to move,  so I hit the stop switch on the cnc to abort the job

---

I really want to be able to learn and create this art work on my shapeoko 3 cnc. So frustrate so I search and found that Fusion 360 can help me to achieve what I am trying to do.

I am attaching the stl file and the gcode which generate by slic3r

I have no clues what is going on and so hopeless

I am trying to attach the stl and the gcode but it is not uploading it take for ever and not uploading

slic3r.org is, as the name implies, a slicing program intended to produced code to be 3D printed, not  milled.

Maybe this video will help.

I try to watch your video but it is almost impossible to see, it is so small and I can't see the texts  on screen to follow

Message 14 of 17

@Awesome-Tools After starting the screencast above did you enable full screen? As for attaching the stl you might need to add it to a ZIP archive, some file types are blocked be the forum software.

Hello

Thanks for your replied and help. I am trying to understand your question, but I am not sure if I understand. I am sorry I am not smart, I am learning the from the Academy here, maybe I need to go through every single classes to get familiar with the term and terminology so I can understand and go back from beginning to watch these lessons 2nd time, I am now less frustrate and making progress. This is the 1st time in my life I try to learn CAD/CAM no background about machinist at all. So I am learning the basic. I need to be patient and learn 1st before crying out. Thanks and have a great & safe Labor Day weekend and God Bless. I am not giving up on your instruction, I am going to try to do what you suggest to see.

If an .stl file is being rejected from the forum, you will need to add it to a .zip folder.

Find your file in the computer, right click on it and select:
