Hi CAM Stars!
I'm trying to wrap my head around a strategy to build this model (an art project for school).
Can anyone help?
- The model is about one and a half times the scale of a basketball, and will be cut out of XPS (pink / blue) foam.
- School has a rugged 3 axis CNC, but it can only really cut 2" depth.
- I also have access to an X-Carve, but even getting 2" depth on that has been hard for me to figure out.
The general workflow I'm thinking of, is trying to create 2" offset planes and split body, then laying out each piece for a cut sheet and gluing them all together after.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I imagine a 5 axis from a single block of material would be amazing, but I don't have access to that kind of machine here in Toronto (if anyone knows of a service, let me know!).
Thanks for any help.

Love that plugin!
I've definitely tested it before, I'll give it a go.
Thanks for the reminder.
