Turning off continuous highlighting as a general user setting

Turning off continuous highlighting as a general user setting

It would be nice if the continuous highlighting of everyting that one mouses over could be turned off.

Preferably as a general UI setting that is not file dependent.

Not only is this continued highlighting one of the slowest UI things in general as described in this thread but it can be really annoying when trying to join, or align components in a more compex assembly where many surfaces are candidates for selecion and highlighting.

A good place for a toggle option would be here:

I very much vote for this.

the highlighting seems to be one of the main reasons why Fusions UI is the slowest when something is highlighted droping down to painful frame rates in my taste. It also adds not really value this way.

You can turn off the highlighting of everything by using selection filters. Just turn off the features you don't want to be selected.

Thanks for the tip. I'll see what that does when I get home tonight.

I had anticipated that this would not exactly do what I have suggested. I can uncheck everything in the Selection Filter and it does not highlight anymore, but then I can also not select it anymore.

I still want tobe able to select things, I just dont want every element that I mouse over to highlight to suggest to me that it can be selected.

My request is still valid.

You have to still check the stuff you want to select, like faces and edges.

Frustrating that this is archived.  I'm trying to add dimensions to a sketch, but I can't find a close place which doesn't auto-highlight some feature on a  component below the sketch plane.  I really want to be able to disable the feature highlighting of moused over edges and such while retaing the ability to select faces, edges, etc.
