Symbols in Dimension Text

Symbols in Dimension Text

It would be nice to be able to add symbols to dimension text, for example the diameter symbol (Ø) when dimensioning diameters in side views (non-circular geometry), the square symbol (□) and others, without having to resort to copying and pasting from MS Character Map.

The same thing for simple text too.

For diameter add %%C at the start of the text or hold down the Alt key and enter 0216 on the number pad. %%D gives the ° symbol or enter 0176 while holding the Alt key down.

This page from Autocad might be helpful. it has a list of text symbols and special character references. Not sure if these all work in fusion but if %%c works for diameter conclusion would be that these work here. I have used these special characters in other cad systems that seem to work universally.

Thanks for posting that link, I could never get the unicode to work before I didn't know you needed the \ character. So to get the square enter \U+25A1

Thanks Mark

PS your link doesn't work first time because there's an extra space at the end, try this.
