(semi) automatic spec generation and design review

Before sending models off for prototype or production manufacturing, it's important to do a design review. This is currently an ad-hoc process, but could be at least partially automated in the following way:

1) Import initial spec (text file) or start from scratch

2) At each stage in design, select which feature(s) / attribute(s) you are working on (or create new ones)

3) Associate the design features with the text elements of the spec

4) Before releasing to manufacture, allow user to manually go through spec step-by-step, seeing features highlighted, and approve / reject each one

5) Highlight text and possibly design features that aren't to spec for repair and subsequent re-review

Something like this could save individuals and businesses from expensive and time consuming mistakes, and (if done well), it can generate a product spec that can be used to describe and design future generations of a product.

This is a really cool idea!  I like this a lot.  You could even use it just for your own reference to keep notes about particular design features.
