Selecting "Transparent Background" when saving images from API.

Hi

In order to generate a lot of individual images for different values of designparameters I used a code including the command:

app.activeViewport.saveAsImageFile(fileName,ImageWidth,ImageHeight)

I am able to use the code in both Model and Render workspace. In Fusion 360 GUI there is an option to select a background from the GUI. From the GUI there is also a "Capture Image" function with an option to select "Transparent Background", which is a very useful option.

  • However, it seems that there is no way to select "Transparent Background" from the API.

  • It should be very useful if images with "Transparent background" could be saved from the API.

Such images is extremely useful when you want to make small videos using special animation programs such as e.g. Shotcut. With a "Transparent Background" you are e.g. able to create an animation of your structure on top of other videos or pictures and then combine and save everything to an arbitrary videoformat as mp4, mov etc.

  • You would be able e.g. easily create a video with your "moving structure" on an arbitrary moving videobackground.

  • Therefor an option to select "Transparent Background" from the API should be well worth considering.

Best Regards

Peter
