Scale improvement

Scale improvement

Hi,

I'm an architect, so I use Autodesk Revit in my works, and after learning Fusion 360 I got used to the differences between it and Revit.

The one feature I think should definitely be added is the Scale by a reference, it's kind of similar to calibrating a canvas in Fusion when you give a specific length for something and everything is scaled accordingly.

I hope you consider it as a feature to be added to the scale dialog box

Regards

Saeed

@JamieGilchrist

Thanks for considering it, I'm looking forward to seeing it in F360!

I was going to make a new thread, but I will add it here instead.

I was making a fully parametric model, when I needed my logo inserted on the back of the part, I realised that I had no way of parametrically scaling the imported dxf content relatively to the box i was making. (since it will change size alot depending on param.)

Atm. you can't insert a parameter in the input box of "sketch scale". sketch scale.png
If that is fixed I do believe that could also be used as a workaround for Saeed's Problem...

Thanks!

I  believe this is an important issue especially for importing an object from another program like Maya. A setting between the two would be very useful. I found a thread of many people who would also want this feature

@JamieGilchrist,

If this gets implemented please make sure it is carried out across all environments where a scale option exists, i.e. Sketch, Model, etc. I agree with @SaeedHamzathat the scale option needs a reference by scale similar to the way the canvas one works although it would be nice if you could pick some points of reference (obviously can't on a canvas) to scale from. This would allow accurate scaling without the need for a calculator to work it out as a percentage of the current scale tool requires in a sketch.

I would like to support the idea.

This will be extremely helpful when you want to combine bodies.

When you import an svg-file the measurements in svg and fusion 360 does not correspond and it is nearly impossible to synchronize distances.

Thanks

"Scale Factor" resizing is a huge annoyance when importing of SVG's. I typically try to import objects into programs with a bounding box so that I can size the SVG 1:1 with where it needs to go, but even if created in mm units, Fusion360 does not respect the size.

And I'm trying to use the scale factor to resize it and it's just being really cumbersome and tedious.

Please allow a reference measurement already.

This was suggested a year ago.

It also need scale handles in order to scale in 3 dimensions as if its made in other 3D softs, and with dimension units like mm, inch. etc
