Parameters tree structure

Parameters tree structure

Hello Autodesk team and all Fusioners!

Here is my 3rd idea how to improve the absolutely brilliant Fusion 360 software.

Before I describe the idea I want to explain how I came out with this. Very often I create parameters list in strictly logical order. I always try to enter them that way I would find certain positions easier and faster. Unfortunately if I forgot about something, or I set up wrong units or something unexpected would came out during design process I couldn't no longer maintain the logical order being forced to enter new variable at the and of the parameters stack. Please take a look at this picture:

Could you figure out which doesn't match?Could you figure out which doesn't match?

I described it as "parameters tree structure" but it could be divided into 3:

1. Able to change parameter units after it's already set up. I know it's tricky because could destroy designs constrains. But with warning pop-up window could be very helpful in fixing the units.

2. Move parameters in stack. If I delete something and add the new one I want to put it to the right "family".

3. The most important one. Be able to grouping the parameters. Notice the 3x3 layout in the picture I attached. it could be grouped functionally (by Distance, Angle and Rotation) and by degree of kinematic chain (1D, 2D and 3D). The perfect solution is ability to group one parameter into several different groups. One parameter for example could be grouped into "Motion" and "Dimensions" group if it impact both.

I know in 90% cases the parameters order doesn't really matter. But with 50 parameters or more it could be a significant difference. It's UI and UX thing and allows users to navigate faster and more intuitive. This idea fits the general need of improving the parameters tab.

Please vote if you feel Fusion 360 has great parametric potential but not yet fully developed. Hope you find this interesting.
