obvious highlighting in the browser when a component is activated

There should be more obvious highlighting in the browser for component activation.  It should always be very clear to a user when a component is activated. I think the basic problem is that the radio button is not visible unless you have moused over the component in the browser- if that, or a check mark, were located to the left of the component name, and always visible if active, it would save confusion.

This would particularly help those just coming to Fusion. Component activation is a frequent stumbling block, and there are no clear visual cues in the UI for this important status. Making the activation status more obvious- since some component is always activated- would help a good deal.

It would already be helpful if the radiio button would remain visible for only the actve component, so vote for this one.

I agree- it would not be necessary to move the radio button, just leaving it visible would help. The light blue highlight is a bit subtle.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I agree.  I've logged this internally as FUS-15791.

I see it was accepted 3 months ago but still not intuitive enough to a new user (me).  Maybe I'm just dense, but to be helpful the toggle needs to already be *obvious* (as the title of this idea suggests) at the top level of the design (more than just a highlight) prior to activating any component, then visibly move *from* there when a component is activated (usually the top level model).  An always-visible actual toggle (like is hidden at the right of each browser item) to the left of each browser item would be most intuitive since everyone knows those symbols generally mean that one and only one item can and must be selected at any time.

Vitally important for new users to grasp this as early as possible.

One issue related that I have is the tree. It would be pretty nice if it had a way to help show the parents of whatever is selected in the tree, even if they Should be off screen? I'm trying to sort through a relatively big file, and hide things to a point where I understand what is going on.

The squiggles are not Nearly bold enough for me. I can find them, but it shouldn't be that difficult. I'd highlight the parent objects in a different way also. Maybe the selected group is bright orange (fusion branding) or yellow or something. But the parent groups are highlighted with only an outlined box in that color or something like that.
