Object snap with free move

Object snap with free move

OK, this is what I want to do.

I use free move most of the time when moving or copying along axis. Something I really miss is the ability

to move to a snap point on another object. Sure it finds endpoints but not the midpoints on a edge.

Strangely the move tool itself snaps onto almost everything but will not find the destinated midpoint.

Point to Point will locate needed points but that throws you off the axis.

I think this is a basic simple command that should be implemented.

UI team will review this as a possible addition to the Move command.

hi matias.bjorklund,

we think this is a nice extension of the move tool.  The team is going to investigate effort and priority of this.  We don't have any sense when this may show up in product, however.

Agreed.  I come from AutoCAD and Revit.  They have their own work pathways that involve transparent snap functionality while in move and many other commands.  However, in Fusion 360 I find myself having to add extra steps in my work flow on a very regular basis.  At the very least, please add 'point to perpendicular' function so that I can grab a point on the object I'm moving and snap it to any arbitrary line perpendicular to my x, y or z direction of travel.

Would save me a lot of time.

Thanks!
