Hi,
I just stared to use Fusion 360 coming from BobCAD because I need a reliable alternative. So far it looks very promising but there are a couple of milling strategies which I think are really great in BobCAD and I'm unable to find something similar in Fusion 360. One of them is the morph between two curves strategy which is a multi axis strategy but can also be applied as 3 axis strategies. It allows to select two continuous lines/edges as the two boundaries and the surfaces which shall be milled between them. Once done the result looks like the following example:
Here's what I was able to come up with in Fusion 360 so far:
I guess it is obvious which one will be faster and provide a better surface finish.
Here's how things are defined/selected:
First/Upper edge curve:
Second/Lower edge curve:
And the drive surfaces:
In general, they've got the milling strategies/libraries included from ModuleWorks, a German company, which implement this strategies. I highly recommend taking a look to what ModuleWorks offer because they have great strategies which I guess could be an interesting pool of inspiration for Fusion 360.
