Microsoft HoloLens

Microsoft HoloLens

I was hoping that there would be a way to connect this with the Microsoft Hololens, I think that by utilizing this we would even be able to do stuff like 'sketch and extrude a shape, then grab and hold that shape in place with one hand while the other one turns into a slicing tool to cut it right in half, there is so much that can be done with this, please help support the idea and share this / like it ::-)

If you have any ideas that you believe would fit this project in terms of functionality between the hololens and fusion/inventor/maya then please do share 🙂

This is what I have come up with so far:

 ** Functionality List:

       - Voice assign tools to left/right hand.

       - Hold objects in place, rotate, move with hand, scale with both hands.

       - Slice tool which allows to slice through object anywhere. (to an extent possibly)

       - hand mold (grab objects and when you squeeze (close you're fist) and rotate and pull the object will form like putty or clay does

       - voice command : insert background image for sketching (inserts image of choice)

Adding more on functionality with this idea:

 * Capture users arms and arm mocap for easy creation of video game FPS models

 * Capture data from POV to recreate as PoV mocap models/ani

(Once the program has created the model of the arms / hands, etc.. it will then learn the movement, bends, etc...)

 * Allow for "walk-around" modeling

(This will allow a user to walk all the way around the object they are focused in on to get the dimensions needed for recreation)

 * weighting object models for future force feedback options?

(e.g. when you open a curtain model with the back of your hand, feedback knows how much weight/force curtain is applying)

.....and this last one for now is far fetched but hey.. why not?

  * I was thinking upon an option that will allow us to capture rays of light with hololens, then allowing us to load that, recreate the

lighting setup within fusion, maya, etc.. -- this would allow for better realism within the modeling aspect which would end in

helping to make the modeling game more realistic by applying real world lighting physics/attributes.

I would LOVE Hololens support. And while it would be nice to have some of the features mentioned above, I would certainly welcome initial support being in the form of simply mirroring my design in real-time. I'd love to see an actual-sized model of my work on my desk while modifying it on the PC. It would be also be neat to adjust the scale of the model the with gestures.
