In the Fusion 360 student edition, you must have Ultimate features.
In the Fusion 360 Student version, I prefer the Ultimate version features to be active. Why are some features turned off for students and educators? Wouldn't it be better for these features to be active for development?
I use the Student, Hobbyist and Startup License (and, coincidentally, I fit all three) and, while I think it would be nice to have, I don't see it being used all that often. I can also understand the exclusion from a business standpoint. We who use the SHS License use Fusion for free (to a point) unlike commercial license users. Autodesk wouldn't want us to use Generative Design because we aren't paying for the computer and server use needed for Generative Design. I don't know if that is the true reason Autodesk reserved Generative Design and the other commercial license features for the Commercial License but it probably is partly one reason.
The cost to run the server is not cheap if you won't itar on your designs it's not set in stone but that is what they won't for the fusion users only you see your work and the people in your team what is controlled by said user the DOD use the same farm that is how much they value your work, yes I am a EE and have a lot at stake but my trust of the fusion team was rewarded by them being straight with me, the main guys are well very experienced so they know there stuff and can be relied on.
Not trying to defend ADSK here but they are being generous, some companies would make you pay for their software and besides the features in ultimate are niche cases and are few and far between, if you can afford the hardware to run generative design maybe Autodesk could allow us to buy credits as it is niche.
