Give the idea station a more detailed way to rate the importance of ideas

I think the idea station needs a way for people to rate the importance of an idea.
Just because an idea gets a lot of votes doesn't mean it is a high priority for all those people. I think this coulld improve the focus of development.

For example lets say that 0 is not important at all and 10 is ugent.

If I make a suggestion for sketch offsets to be given an eiditable value  so you can go back in and change that dimension. That would be really awesome and a huge improvement but I would put it lower on my list of importance, maybe 15 people rate it an average of 4.

I suspect a lot of other people would vote for this but I suspect for most of them it wouldn't be the most urgent issue either.

Now let's say there is a missing feature or capability in 3D CAM. This will get a lot less votes because a lot less people will be using CAM.
However for anyone who needs this feature it may be quite urgent so 3 people might rate it an average of 8.
This way developers can look through ideas using both number of votes and urgency of the voter.
I feel like a lot of the ideas suggested here get focused on because a lot of people vote thinking oh yeah that's a good idea that I would love to see some day when there are likely things that are much more important that they would rather see be a priority.

That's an interesting idea.  A 1-10 scale may be more granular than is needed though.  How about a 1-3 scale to make it a little simpler?

1) I think this is a good idea but it's not super important to me.

2) I think this is a good idea and I would use it if it was available.

3) OMG I HAVE A HUGE PROJECT THAT TOTALLY NEEDED THIS YESTERDAY!!!

I think this would capture the urgency of a particular idea well enough without requiring people to think about where it should be on a 1-10 scale.  You might also want to limit how many times people can use a 3 vote in some period of time, so they don't just put a 3 on everything.

Maybe split the difference like 1-5? I think it would be good to have some range particularly between your two and three.

Like this is fairly important to me but there are still things that I think need attention more.

I had also wondered what would stop someone from using urgent for all their votes but I think at this point in time anyone who really has an opinion is going to have their own sense of scale and would want to save those more urgent ratings for the things they really wanted focussed on the most.
It may be good to have some sort of limitation on it though. Like only 10% of your votes could be a 5 and 20% of your votes could be a 4 or something like that.

If someone felt it was important enough to vote on the urgency of more ideas it would be motivation for them to go vote and add their opinion to less urgent ideas as well.

I would put your statement:

"this is fairly important to me but there are still things that I think need attention more."

at a pretty solid 2.  The things that need attention more would be 3.

But yeah, I see what you're saying.  Whatever it is though, it needs to be one click simple and require minimal thinking.  That's the reason the "like" button is so popular.  So maybe instead of a single "vote" button you have 3-5 buttons, each with a number for rating urgency.  The fact that you've voted at all means you like the idea enough to give it some consideration.

Has any more thought been put into this? I think it would be a massively helpful feature.
I keep seeing things implimented in updates and I just can't imagine how they were chosen as the top priority.
Ballons and a parts list in drawings before GD&T?
Would anyone really have prioritized it that way?

I think it's awesome that the F360 team tries so hard to take user input into consideration but I feel that sometimes it causes side tracks with petty little things instead of focussing on top priorities first.
Maybe my needs are just different than others. IDK.
Sure rendering could always be better but I think there would have been way more important things to focus on this update.
If my drawing is incomplete I can't send it to the manufacturer so I need to throw it into other software to finish. If my model isn't quite as shiny or luminus as it could be I don't think anyone would really care.
On the other hand it's a massive PITA when I have to transfer a project to Inventor when I need to do 3D sketching, flatten to 2D, want an assembly with components in separate files or use basic mates instead of joints.
