Give Selection Sets Lightbulbs

Give Selection Sets Lightbulbs

The icon to the left of a  selection set seems to do nothing. All I ever use selection sets for is visiblity toggle, which is circuitously nested under a hover-then-left-click-then-right-click menu. Why not change the selection set icon to a lightbulb? Or, if you prefer to keep the green icon, make it a visibility toggle switch, going from green to gray depending on the state?

It doesn't need to be intelligent, indicating if some of the bodies in the set are already off or some similarly complex indication system. The icon can just become illuminated again if any bodies/components in the set are made visible again.

Like CentralProcess, I use Selection Sets primarily to show and hide bodies and/or components.

The problem I have is that when using Show/Hide, it simply toggles the state of a body or component between shown or hidden. If the bodies and components are not all in the same state (shown or hidden), I have to figure out which ones are "out of sync" and toggle them individually.

This makes using Show/Hide with large Selection Sets almost useless.

Suggestion:

Light bulb functionality for Selection Sets is a great idea. Alternatively, instead of a single Show/Hide toggle menu item, have two items: "Show all" and "Hide all"

I'd be happy with the ability to right-click a Selection Set and have the options to Show or Hide all.

Great point, Aeleus. However, I would propose that the lightbulb (or similar) is a Show All/Hide All device, so the current drop-down menu option can keep it strange-but-maybe-useful-to-some toggling functionality. No extra UI noise, no increase in menu size, all options available.
