Extent All in Hole/Extrude limit to Component

Extent All in Hole/Extrude limit to Component

Hi!

This is about making "Extent - All" cutting only active component geometry by default.

Now it cuts through everything and my idea is to make several choices, i.e.: 'all in active component', 'all visible', 'all visible in active component', 'all (EVERYTHING!!!)'.

Latter is optional 🙂

Several pics follow:

1. This one illustrates two components with one box in each. Component 2 is active

2. And this one shows how Hole operation treats Extent - All option. It cuts through Component 2 AND Component 1 geometry that could possibly be not required by default. This could be not most illustrative example but if you work with assembly this can seriously reduce productivity.

Yeah, this would be really great to change the default behavior of Extents - All, but the same thing happens with other options, like Extents - Distance or Extents - To (see screenshot), so I think it's more about changing the behavior of all Cut operations to affect only active component by default, which can be turned on and off by some "Only active component" checkbox in any dialog that has Cut operation, for example. Unchecking tens of those "Objects to cut" checkboxes in complex assemblies is a disaster!
