In the Manufacture>2D Mill>Engrave, please add an `Engrave to a depth' function. If the Font is too wide then a second path is generated to engrave upto the far edge (maybe also add selector box for additional paths to smooth bottom on a wider font), if the font is too narrow for the tapered cutter, then give an error stating `Cutter too wide for depth stated'
This would fix a problem I and others have been experiencing (search for single line text engraving), I have an item to engrave that has 3 different text strings (2.0mm tall, 2.5mm tall & 2.5mm Bold), all using the Ariel font, which means all 3 are cut to different depths when a 15 degree cutter is use. So the 2.5mm Bold cuts too deep for my liking (especially in 1 pass) and the 2.0mm barely cuts at all. This will get even worse when I change from lexan to aluminum. Just imagine if I was using a 10mm tall font.
Thanks,
Rich C.
