Gathering Support
DirectX 12 Raytracing (DXR)
With the availability of raytracing capable graphics cards such as nVidia RTX series, it would be great to provide support for real-time raytracing in Fusion 360 using DirectX 12 DXR.
I voted for the idea, but what I think would be a more useful use of raytracing capable graphics cards is the local rendering assisted by those GPUs. Currently, they are all done using the CPUs, because of raytracing.
I find that when opening large models or selecting items I often get slow downs despite having an overclocked CPU. I imagine offloading the scene rendering to the GPU could improve performance substantially. Keep the CPU for the interface and modeling options, and let the scene be smooth regardless.
