I find that I'll start to create say a circle that I'll be using multiple times and all needing the same parametric value entered. So I have to stop, open the panel, add it, close the panel, and then remake the circle or change the dimension.
It would be ideal to be able to bring up an small panel from the dimension editing box to allow creation of a new parameter at the time you need it.
Even if something like this was entered newParameterName = 5mm
the units could be assumed from the type of field being used in some cases, and also allow specifications (like above). I typically find this a big issue when sketching or extruding, chamfering, etc ..
