Chamfered tabs in CAM

Chamfered tabs in CAM

Hello,
I have a problem when running my CNC-router (X-Carve) in hard wood like oak. When the router reaches a tab it stops and lifts the bit to the set height for the tab. This causes the bit to burn the wood and make a mark that is hard to remove..In order to avoid this I would like the CAM program to create a tab that has a chamfer on each side, in order not to stop at each tab. I know that there is a tab shape that is called triangular, but this one is to weak at low hieights and to long for sufficient function. Please create a third type of tabs. I have made a simple drawing which illustrates the tab shape that I want. https://a360.co/2J9UG97

I agree with Axel that there should be an alternative tab shape that would not stop the router so burn marks are prevented on materials like hard wood.

A lens shaped tab could also do the trick.

This seems to be solved because in CAM we can (now) select triangle shaped tabs. Smiley Happy

@daniel_lyall, your quite right. And I didn't read the post correctly.

Maybe you can help me with the question about removing just one tab from CAM I posted recently? See https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-computer-aided/2d-contour-tab-remove/m-p/8206422
