Calculator inside Fusion 360 .

Calculator inside Fusion 360 .

Hello , I think there should a small calculator tool inside . Each time there is a calculation or conversion , I need to open a calculator outside or on web . There should be a calculator . I am working on a chassis , when i need the total length of pipe required , i need to do calculatation or conversion all outside fusion 360 . Those who are involved in manufacturing of there model , will get a lot help .

Yes , I always need long calculation and conversion . Because Sometime I work with projects which are been manufactured . So always I have to give accurate dimension of materials .

Hi Sanket,

I might not quite understand the issue correctly: You should be able to type your calculations in any textbox and Fusion will calculate the result. Is this not what you request? It will even support mathemetical functions like rounding values off. If you have longer and more complicated calculations you could use the parameter windows which gives you more working space.

Ya, I never needed that for sure because like any other Autodesk product, if you put some values with normal addition, subtraction, multiplication or division into dimension, it automatically calculates the results. However, it doesn't convert values into other Measurement Systems and that is also  because they already have default measurement systems.

Even if they add calculator, I don't think that would be of much use.

calculations.JPGcalculations.JPGHey , This is chassis I designed . In this chassis there are 2 pipes of different O.D .  I am manufacturing this chassis . So I needed the length of pipe needed. I can't window select the design because there are some sketches with only references and sketches with pipe and references . So each time I need to select the proper line and inspect to take measurements and adding to calculator . I know during sketch or design , I can directly add or substract or divide . But here I needed to Measure selecting each dimension and also keep calculating outside .

Great.

If it really useful then it should be there, I don't think a calculator would be too much to ask for.

Happy Designing Sanket.

I think it is a bit useful to have a calculator in Fusion 360, it is must.

Thanks @JeromeBriot ,

Can it do unit conversions ?

 And how to add this calculator in my fusion360 ?

Follow the instructions on the GitHub page to install the add-in (i.e. use GitHub2Fusion360)

I will add a unit conversion tool soon to the calculator.

 Hi @JeromeBriot,

That is a cool tool! And so is your memory consumption checking tool. May I ask why you do not publish your tools in the app store?

Cheers!

@sanket223.patil

The unit converter is available.

@PinRudolf

I already published two contributions on the app store. The publication process is not suitable for prototypes.
