Assembly drawings

Assembly drawings

I would like to see the ability to select a Subassembly to make a drawing. currently the workflow is to select all this components in the subassembly to make the drawing. I made the effort to make them in an assembly for a reason. I would like to control that subassembly.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for your post. You can do this today, actually. From the 'Create Drawing' dialog, deselect "full assembly" from the Reference section, and simply click on the top-level of the subassembly you desire from the Canvas Browser. This will select all of the components in that subassembly for you to create a drawing of.

What do you mean you can't do it from the canvas? You can select or multi-select any components you want from the design directly in the canvas or from the canvas browser to send to a drawing. Are you referring to a different workflow?

Yes I am. Typical the purpose of having a subassembly is that I am going have its own drawing for fabrication purposes. I understand that I can select all of the components in individually in the canvas. However, I want to select the subassembly directly from the canvas. I would just give its own selection toggle. For example, Full assemble, sub, or component.
