Ability to delete a design

Ability to delete a design

I am new at CAD programs and just to create my first project, I have saved 6 designs. This is just a dust shoe for my CNC machine. I can't even guess how many saved files are going to be accumulated for my next project. I also like to have the ability to save one version and then go back to a previous saved file so that I can make changes and see if it might work better.

Once a project is completed, I would like to keep the one final file but all the in between files are no longer necessary.

I would like to be able to select files and remove them from the Data panel and from the files all together.

Thank you

Simon

Have you tried right clicking on the document and selecting delete or do you need something else? You can hold the Ctrl key down to select several designs and delete all. This all seems a bit obvious, so I'm not sure if you're after something else.

I am unsure if the functionality was just added. I just checked after reading your comment and the menu this morning is different from what it was last night. I right clicked one of my saved file last night and the delete option was not there. This morning it is and, yes, it is deleting the file.

I read a few posts from other people who were asking if the functionality is available and the answers were no. I need to look on how to remove this idea from the system now.

Thank you for your help.

I think what you might have found in your searches where people asking for the ability to delete projects. Is there any chance you were in offline mode when you tried to delete a design.

You might be able to get the thread moved to the design forum by using the report option and ask for it to be removed.

I support this. Once you have linked a file (1)  in another design (2). Then you save and go forward in your deign (2) you are in deep trouble to delete file(1).

It is very difficult to clean your data panel.

I think it is not so difficult, if you delete a design, to promt a message:

"This file is linked in :xxxxxxxxx, if you delete this file all links will be broken"

Resulting in a deleted file. AND

The design (2,x,x,x,x,x) wil have a fixed imported unlinked  file. No?
