Use Autocad blocks in Fusion 360

Where I work right now we have been using blocks in Autocad as a template for each project we work on. We want to make the switch over to fusion 360, but we don't want to waste time essentially redrawing our blocks that we have in Autocad into 3D models with User Parameters in Fusion 360. This would save us so much time and would be a really great feature for people wanting to make the switch to Fusion 360.

Are the blocks 2d or 3d. Have you tried uploading the DWG files through the data panel in Fusion then inserting into designs. If the DWGs are in the same project they insert as linked files, you might need to break the link to have something useful, depends on if it's 2d or 3d.

Thank you for your help. All of the blocks we currently have are 2d.

You could create a project from the data panel to store your blocks on the cloud, then insert into your designs. If the design is in a different project it will not be linked back to the original, would that be a problem? unfortunately you can only insert DXF files stored on your computer directly into a design, so having all the DWGs stored offline isn't going to work at the moment, don't know if there's a plan for insert DWG.

Have you tried uploading a block then inserting into a design to see how it works?

No that would not be a problem. I think we would just create a new copy for each project we create. I uploaded one of our 2d blocks and everything imported very well. But it's still 2d, which was expected. So I think we will have to use the sketches from the blocks in order to create our 3d model. Then use the user parameters in order to drive the model. thank you for your help.
