i live in grey room or dark sky, depending on the glare (grey room is kinder to glare).

however, some work needs to be done for contrasting, especially of sketch elements when object transparency is enabled and using edit in place. this can be partly overcome by enabling the shadow effect options.

without a doubt infinity pool is far harder on my eyes and I only use it when exporting a bommer BOM to get the thumbnails looking good.

why parameter search is missing is beyond me. my experience is mainly with Telerik & C#.net; this sort of thing is out of the box, but even if a custom control is required the code should only affect the UI.

Hi AD,

Main Timeline is a mess for non trivial projects (15+ components, 50+ features, 25+ joints).

Please make Isolation mode more consistent with regards to Timeline as well. Hide/grey/group+collapse features in timeline not pertaining directly to the isolated component (ie: features/joints not having references in isolatee or children are not relevant in isolation).

Generally Timeline and model debugging are the least efficient parts of the UI.

An improvement idea...

The component tree on the upper left is of course great and very useful.  Graphicly it could be improved.  At first glance, everything has a similar look and weight and parsing out what your looking for takes some effort.  ie the origins folder looks just like a component folder that looks just like the analysis folder...Perhaps using color, bold type, spacing and icons you could help the eye quickly decern the various layers information more quickly.  Also, the component your working on could perhaps be more clear within that tree.

add search bar at the PHYSICAL MATERIAL as it is there in the Apperrance function.... Or maybe even better combine those 2 functions into 1 becuse they are so similar why make it separate?

also want to address some UI inconsistancies : the new thin extrude is great but needs a bit more love, if I extrude it to 2 sides or symmetrically I need type in all the values (thickness and side) again rather then it will take over the previous value

Not sure if this falls into UI or not, but Fusion 360 REALLY needs to add more user control to how section views are displayed. I have seen this request come up multiple times in various forums dating back many years but it doesn't appear to be on your radar at the moment.

The issue is that the arbitrary colors that Fusion assigns to sectioned bodies are generally very unhelpful when describing/visualizing an assembly. The amount of time I've had to say "No, not THAT off-green part, the OTHER off-green part directly adjacent to it" is embarrassing. It would be add considerable value if I were able to have the sectioned faces retain the appearance assigned to that body (steel bodies look steel, brass bodies look brass etc.) Excluding select bodies/components from a section view is another excellent method of communicating an assembly that I think would improve Fusion 360 significantly.

I wold like to have a tool that wold allow me to measure one arc radius by 3 points. This is necessary on imported files were cylinders or fillet faces are not defined as cylinders however they are round and we need to now its radius.

I too would like to be able to sort and search the parameter box, I would also like to be able to see the box when I'm sketching (because I often forget what names I've used). Most of all though, I would love to be able to have individual, named, parameter files, that can be shared between designs. I've recently had to produce drawings for a set of topologically identical items that have different, none-related, dimensions. The only way I could think of doing the job was to model the first one with its parameters and then produce the drawings. Then save the model with a new name, change the parameters as required, and then create the drawings from scratch again. Then do the same thing all over for each new item.

With named parameter files I could save the first set of parameters under a new name, update it, then use it to update the model which, when saved, would generate the new drawings.

When drawing a rectangle (for instance), the "Feature Options" appears at the top of the "Sketch Palette" window which allows me to select the type of rectangle if I happen change my mind from the type I originally selected, say from two point to three point. Not having to start over is a time and click saver and could be applied to the Construct tools. I was just trying to insert a construction plane into a design but the type I selected would not work for me. It would have been nice to be able to change the type without starting over from say an offset plane to a tangent plane or other type to find one that would work. This would also provide better UI consistency.

Most of my work comes through SolidEdge, so I have to switch back and forth between that and Fusion360.
Please can SolidEdge be included in the options for Pan, Zoom, Orbit controls?  The only difference is that Pan is Shift+MMB, and Orbit is just MMB.  You can see why that would get confusing when I'm swapping back and forth so often.

On a different area, when simulating tool paths using "Colorization Material", I find it hard to get a clear view of what I have just "cut".  Whichever material I pick, it seems the illumination effects are so harsh that the details of my cuts disappear in the highlight glare or the shadows.  I cut molds, and they are often engraved, so it is useful to see how well cavities cut with different tools meet and join.  Having paid the extra for a 'professional' graphics card, it would be nice to get some value out of that.

I'd like to take a screenshot of my feeds and speeds calculator ( NYCCNC, g-wizard), and drop it into my tool presets as a comment so I can refer to how I got there.

I just lost a commercial client because the exporting of a model into a basic dwg model is so tedious and outputs way more information than what's needed as well as loses model positioning along the way.

I exported a simple tabletop with two bases and it converts the model automatically from imperial to metric, repositions the bases to random undesignated location and orientation.

I currently have to wait 15 minutes to export the model then reupload the 3d model in dwg form to delete all sketches and other extraneous data correct orientation etc...

Then when there is an issue unresolved I have to repeat the process!  This has consumed hours of my time...

I may get AutoCAD 3d as well but still, this process should not be like this. It's way too bloated. When exporting, fusion should be able to export the model with the dimensions, positioning, and orientation as is seen in the model space. Sketches and all other extraneous data should be automatically purged or at least I should be given the option to do so.

I'm   missing  simple  1 press navigation keys.

Zoom all, zoom object, window zoom, etc. etc. The 3D mouse is essential and I use the 's' key. I also know there are workarounds (but these need code !)

I would love to see the time line better organised. it would be great to see all the parent child relationships, and even better to group these and eliminate unused or discarded features and sketches.

Still find (after ~1 years use) 'capture position' both confusing and annoying.

I absolutely love this software. One thing I would like to see is the ability to tab through command options with keyboard only. I find it annoying when I have to mouse over to the dialogue, click the "select" button, then go select the feature, then mouse back to the next option, etc. My workflow would be so much more efficient if I could use two peripherals in parallel to accomplish a task, rather than jumping back and forth.

Also, please please give us a way to create new user parameters on the fly, eg. "ButtonDiam = 5mm"

That's a good thing.   I have seen many of the educational videos and this is the first time I have seen this capability.  Maybe I am not yet looking in the right place or maybe it is not obvious enough.  The parameter table does seem a little clunky.
