3D Packages disappearing

I have got problems with my 3D packages in Fusion360 Electronics.
I have got an LDR, as well as a relay, which keeps disappearing from the 3D PCB, when I move other components around in the 2D PCB, and then push the changes to the 3D PCB. They disappear with the error message "Warning: LDR: This version of package 3d file might have no 3d model. Warning: G4A1APEDC12: This version of package 3d file might have no 3d model." But if I then move both of the components (the LDR or Relay), one step and then push it to the 3D PCB again, then they reappear. I have tried remaking the package, as well as copying the device to another library, but nothing seems to work.

I have cut the screencast a bit, as it takes quite a while to push to 3D PCB, while screencasting.

Forgot to add the Screencast.

Here it is.

I have reported similar issues several times and they did nothing.

This is f360 built in features, self made 3d packages are randomly disappearing. If you have more own 3d libs do not be surprised that every render they will dissalpear in random order.

They (Autodesk) are not able proper save and combine 3d packages to other part references.

Now let's examine your problematic part, make simple test, but save your work before. When you click in 2d pcb editor open device from right click I guarantee in 99% that this crap software will crash. Other parts"from the box" are fine.

Hello @simon.brix99 , @christopher2KLSVU ,

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble.

Could you please try to delete all the cached files under below folder and try your steps again?

  • Mac OS:

/Users/[your account in Mac OS]/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/[Fusion ID]/circuitslib

  • Windows OS:

C:/Users/[your account in Windows OS]/AppData/Roaming/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/[Fusion ID]/circuitslib

Thank you very much for checking.

Regards,

Helen

Hello Helen

That unfortunately didn't solve the problem. I have also discovered, that it has nothing to do with what components I move. They more or less toggles between appearing and disappearing every time I regenerate the 3D PCB.

Does it crash when you" open device"  the problematic part?.

I also had a component disappear few days ago.

Still feels like pre-release software...

So many bugs spending most of my time looking for workarounds.

This behavior  I am reporting since August or June. I sent dozens, dozens crash reports and it is still not fixed. They used us as test rabbits, this is let say fine if the software is free but when I am paying for two licenses? JOKE not a serious company.

Seems that there is no any factory test procedures before release, if they would design at least one pcb  with their software they would know what is going on.

Right now there are three similiar topics on forum related with same 3D disappearing problem.

What I am talking about here... they have even problem to proper handle licensing when buying online...give me a break..

Hello @christopher2KLSVU , @rbkyorem ,

So sorry to hear that you're having problem too.

We just identified an issue about the missing 3D package when there are reused 3d package in multiple libraries sometimes and we are working with a fix about it.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-electronics/failed-to-get-3d-model-from-library/td-p/98058...

Not sure whether your case is similar to that one.

Because sometimes the issues might be related to specified files or libraries, if you don't mind to share your files to us for investigating, that will be very helpful.

I will send private message to you with my email address if you don't mind.

Thank you very much for your help and so sorry for any inconvenience.

Regards,

Helen

No it does not crash, when opening the part.

Message 12 of 19

That's very good for you, my is crashing with every problematic self made 3d part.

Hi @rbkyorem ,

By the way, I realized that last week around Thursday or Friday, we did have an issue about not able to get the 3D model. And it has been addressed quickly last week. So if you happened to had the issue last week, most likely you will not see it again now after relaunch Fusion 360.

That's may be the reason why you only met it once last week.

Hope all is well now for you.

Helen

I have the latest version of Fusion 360 and this is still happening! I have spent hours trying to find a work around and it's time I don't have!

Eagle seems very clunky in comparison to other mid range PCB software but I do love what they are trying to achieve in Fusion 360.

Hi @simon.brix99  and all,

Thank you all for your great help and files.

We could reproduce this issue in our side now, and our development will investigate this.

We will keep you be posted if we have a fix.

So sorry for any inconvenience.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Helen

I am also having this problem with the latest build as of today. Packages keep disappearing on me when they otherwise appear to be correctly linked in the library component, then they'll randomly show up again. This is happening with .lbr "team" files that are in my project's directory. Please PM me if you'd like the problematic files

Hi @DeanmodPC , @simon.brix99 , @salesFPWD9 , @christopher2KLSVU , @rbkyorem ,

Hope all is well.

Good news!

Today Fusion 360 just released an update with version 2.0.9313, which has a fix about the issue you reported about missing 3D model when viewing 3D PCB.

Could you please try to view 3D PCB again and see whether the issue is fixed or not?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

Helen

Hi Helen.

I have finally had time to open the files again. This seems to have solved the problem.

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Simon
