Splitting a body with a 3 dimensional splitting tool

I am trying to split a body using a tool that is not flat. Is there any way that this can be done?

Modify-Splitbody

Hold down the ctrl key to select multiple faces for the splitting tool, or select the body to be used as the splitting tool from the browser

Model workspace:

You can use sketch geometry to split. 

The Combine tool can also be used to split a model by using it several times to create both sides.

Patch workspace:

Create a patch object, then use it as the split tool.
